LA Palamar has been a major force in the
hospitality and tourism sector for over 25 years, assisting companies to
realize their sales, marketing and human resource potential.
Working for some of the most respected hotel brands
in the business such as Sheraton and Delta, LA progressed through the ranks of
the hotel industry in a variety of increasingly senior sales positions,
completing her hospitality employment as the Vice President of Sales and
Marketing for Ramada Canada.
LA joined Solutionz in 2010, as our hospitality and
tourism sales training partner.
She launched her firm, known as bte
in 2003, providing training and consulting services to hospitality companies,
tourism councils, associations and colleges. Clients include InterContinental Hotels Canada, Fairmont
Scottsdale, the Tourism Industry Association of Canada and Ottawa Tourism, to
name just a few. Training and
consulting services focus on performance improvement through enhanced selling skills,
effective use of sales tools, sales productivity management, account management
and client servicing.
She is a sought after speaker in the area of travel
industry sales, addressing conferences and classrooms alike. She presented her research paper (co-authored
with Buckhiester Revenue Management) on Dynamic Pricing in the Hospitality
Industry at the 2007 Association of Corporate Travel Executives (ACTE) Global
Conference in Miami, and presented on the topic of utilizing social media to
sell with a session on LinkedIn at the ACTE Canada Education Conference in
November 2010. Her weekly sales
webinars are attended by travel professionals in North America and Europe.
LA resides in Ottawa, Canada. Her community and industry involvement
includes volunteering, speaking engagements and committee work. She is on the
Board of Directors of the Canadian Hospitality Marketing and Sales Executives
and a member of Ottawa Tourism, the Canadian Professional Sales Association and
the Canadian Tourism Human Resource Council.
